Nu-Roc Community Healthcare is proud to announce that the Employee of the Year for 2016 is Erin Brown.

Erin is a CNA, who has been with the facility since April of 2009. She works second shift but is willing to help out whenever she is needed. When her co-workers were asked to describe Erin, words that kept coming up were “awesome”, “sweet”, “compassionate”, and “hard working”. Residents commented that Erin was “always helpful”, and “always smiling” and “always on the move”.

Erin now resides in the Armstrong Creek area; she was born and raised near Fence. When asked what she liked most about her job she replied, “I just love the residents.” Erin stated that she feels connected to them, is able to relate to their struggles. She said that she spent a great deal of time taking care of family and friends and decided it was a much better fit for her than the factory job she had. She thinks about going back to school to become a nurse but doesn’t want to lose any ‘hands on’ time with her residents. “Maybe some day I will,” she said.

When not working, Erin lives a quiet life. She has 2 sons and 1 grandson, with another one on the way. She likes to read and chase after her 2 dogs.

The staff at Nu-Roc is also impressed with Erin’s strength overcoming obstacles in her personal life. While undergoing surgery and treatment for cancer a few years ago, Erin missed as few work days as possible. She put a smile on her face and cared for her residents as if she didn’t have a problem in the world.

Erin Brown is certainly deserving of this honor and the staff and residents at Nu-Roc congratulate her.
